Films

Over the past few years I've been making documentary films about my work and interests. You can see some of these works online through the links below.

The Key West Botanical Garden
Eclipsed by its reputation as a vacationers’ hotspot, Key West, FL is little appreciated for its biological diversity; it’s the only tropical humid forest in the continental U.S. Developed with a crew of students at Duke University, the film was used to bolster public support for the expansion of the garden.

The Farmers' Market
Begun as a wide-ranging exploration of local farming in the Durham, North Carolina area, this short documentary came to focus on the history of one family in their quest to grow organically and sell locally.

Spaghetti (coming soon)
This visual study of the making of a pasta dinner was my first project as a student at Duke's Center for Documentary Studies.

Beeing There (coming soon)

In starting to research local organic farming, I met a lot of interesting farmers who all had unique stories about how they came into working with the land (or the bees, in this case). The love of nature is sometimes reserved for furry, cuddly creatures. Not true for this charismatic North Carolinian apiarist whose love of bees go beyond the honey they produce.
